Nora Partlow opened St Elmo’s Coffee Pub eleven years ago. She had worked in Del Ray for six years at a restaurant that no longer exists, the Snuggery. As the neighborhood was starting to bloom, Nora realized that there was a need for a coffee shop….and also a community meeting spot. So she opened St Elmo’s, which has ever since been considered ‘the heart’ of the Del Ray community.

Nora has always been fascinated by real estate, and also felt that real estate really shaped a community. After eleven years of running Elmo’s, she was starting to feel like she needed a little more to do…not that she doesn’t stay busy. Nora has been involved with the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, the Potomac West Business Association, First Night of Alexandria, and the Alexandria Health Clinic.

Nora has always helped her friends and customers with various referrals. She is constantly asked for the name of a good chiropractor, or the name of a good real estate agent. So Nora took the required classes and is now officially a Realtor with Coldwell Banker. So far her real estate clients have mainly been Elmo’s customers. She has been told that they chose her because of her honesty. Buying or selling a home can be very complicated. It is a big transaction, and they appreciate her down-to-earth approach.
